This cocoa mix is easy to make and perfect for making in large batches so you can make rich and chocolaty hot cocoa all winter long!

Equipment

  • Glass Jar with an airtight lid I like to use quart or larger
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Funnel Optional

Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt – For extra minerals I like to use Redmond Real Salt
  • 1 cup Milk powder of choice
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot powder optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in your airtight container and mix well.

Serving Hot Cocoa

  • The amount of cocoa mix that you will use will depend on the size of mug or thermos and how strong of a chocolate flavor you want.
  • Lighter flavor: begin with 2 tablespoons of cocoa mix per 1 cup milk or water.
  • Medium flavor: use ⅓ cup of cocoa mix per 1 cup of milk or water.
  • Strong flavor: use ½ cup of cocoa mix per 1 cup of milk or water.

Notes

How to store hot cocoa mix

This cocoa mix should be stored in an airtight container and in a cabinet away from any heat. Canning jars with spent lids are a great option to store this delicious mix!
For best results, this cocoa mix should be used within 6 months to 1 year. With time, the mix may lose flavor so it is best to make the mix in batches that you will enjoy sooner than later.
