How to Make Homemade Wellness Shots with Lemon Ginger

The simple combination of ginger and lemon are a perfect pair for when you need a little pick-me-up. Aside from the final product, the best part about ginger wellness shots is that there is no juicer required! With just a blender and a strainer as your tools, you can make delicious wellness shots anytime you’d like.

A ginger shot is an ounce of concentrated liquid that contains primarily ginger juice and is often paired with lemon. Ginger shots can also contain cayenne. The cayenne helps aid in the same or similar function that the ginger and lemon serve (reducing inflammation and boosting metabolism).

Ingredients and Tools for wellness shots

½ cup sliced ginger root

4 lemons

1 tbsp – ¼ cup raw honey (optional)

⅛ tsp Cayenne powder

1 cup water

High speed blender or immersion blender

Fine Mesh Strainer

Air tight jar

Directions

Roughly chop ginger root and add to the blender

Remove the rind from the lemon and add to the blender. 

To the blender, add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. 

Cut lemons, sliced ginger and water in a Vitamix blender

When the ginger mixture is smooth, strain the mixture into the air tight jar. 

After the mixture has stopped dripping through the strainer, press the pulp to release more juice. 

When you’ve squeezed all the juice you want out, enjoy a fresh ginger shot! Then secure the lid and store in the fridge. 

Enjoy for a week or transfer into an ice cube tray.
