This chocolate sauce can also be made in any amount. So, whether you’re making just enough for a few glasses of chocolate milk or enough for an ice cream sundae bar for a BBQ with your extended family.
How to store chocolate sauce
When mixing your chocolate sauce, I recommend using a pint canning jar. Once your mixture is fully cooled, secure the two part air tight lid and place in the back of your refrigerator.
If stored in the back of the refrigerator, your chocolate sauce should stay good for about a month. As with any food, be sure to use your senses before you use it! If it has a funny color or smells off, you’re better off making a new batch.
Ingredients and tools
A pint mason jar with an airtight lid
A spoon or small spatula
A whisk or fork
¼ cup Cocoa powder
¼ cup sweetener (preferably sugar, maple syrup or honey)
½ tsp Salt – I recommend using Redmond Real Salt for the extra minerals!
¼ cup Filtered water
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Directions for Chocolate Sauce
Add sugar, cocoa powder, salt and vanilla extract to your mason jar.
Warm the water on the stove just below a simmer.
Add water to the jar with the rest of the ingredients.
Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
